A propos luxury in Poland?

Just incidentally I logged back to my forgotten blog just to discover that there has been some traffic going on here over the years. For some time now I am putting together in my mind the article regarding luxury segment in Poland. Just in case, I don't come back here very soon I will share with you some facts a propos luxury in Poland.

Coming back to the origins, I launch "luxury directory" when I was still a student. My goal was to keep track of all the research and thoughts I had back then. It was around 2006-2007. Today we have 2011 and I can't see fundamental developments regarding luxury market in Poland.

The question that has been raised over and over in several publications and reports is WHY?

Why we still do not have boutiques of major, global luxury brands?

The answer: no location. I can believe it. But I disagree.

I will just cite some facts from KPMG report from 2010 concerning luxury market in Poland as it was published in Polish and naturally is out of your reach:)

#1 Polish society is getting rich in a very fast pace.

#2 Polish consumers can spend about 27 million PLN on the purchase of
luxury goods in 2010.

#3 For more than a half of respondents the luxury brand is characterized by three features:
high quality, prestige and high price.

#4 The main argument for the purchase of luxury goods for nearly 90% of respondents is their high quality.

#5 Poles are increasingly interested in buying the most expensive and most luxurious
means of transport, such as airplanes, helicopters and yachts.
